Our first featured business owner for 2019 was Darlene Beck of Setting the Bar. BQ Royal Business magazine was ecstatic to have Ms. Beck agree to be apart of our feature this month. Join us as we jump into knowing this new startup in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from the words of the magazine.


BQ: Thanks so much for joining us, Ms. Beck. Will you please share with us your business?

DB: Setting The Bar LLC is the name of my business. I established SettingTheBarLLC on May 30th, 2018 but the skills and talents of the company have been in development through various relationships over the years.

BQ: What do you do and who is in your market?

DB: The mission/vision behind SettingTheBarLLC is to see other's reach their full potential in life. The philosophy of SettingTheBarLLC is that we believe you have the power to change the narrative of your life by setting the bar. We offer goal setting workshops, custom speaking engagements, one to one sessions to help bring visions into reality, events that promote individuals to excel in their life,  mentoring, network resources and much more. My target audience is anyone who has felt stagnated in life and wants something different.

BQ: Darlene, that is awesome! Our fellow women business owners need you! When you started, did you have the support you needed to keep going?

DB: Initially I did not but I did not allow that to stop me because I was doing what God had purposed me to do.BQ: Do you believe there is a lack of support with other women entrepreneurs or women in ministry?

DB: I am new in the entrepreneur world but I have heard about the lack of support from others. My goal is to seek genuine relationships and my belief is that the support will come.

BQ: Very wise! Ms. Beck, what are you looking forward to for 2019?

DB: I am looking forward to making more of an impact. I want to see others take the knowledge and wisdom given to them and use it to take their lives to another level.

BQ: Any encouraging words you can share for other women BADpreneurs?

DB: Remember your "Why" Why did you start your business. Let your why fuel you to keep going. You are the solution to a problem, keep going.
